Product information "Friedrich von Schiller"

Physician and poet. Prominent representative of the Sturm und Drang movement in world literature.

Born on 10 November 1759 in Marbach, died on 9 May 1805 in Weimar. When one thinks of Schiller, one first thinks of Weimar Classicism, his rivalry and later friendship with Goethe, not necessarily his birthplace, which, however, can point to a long tradition of visitors due to its famous son. Schiller's theatre debut, ‘Die Räuber’ (The Robbers), is considered part of the Sturm und Drang movement, and his time with Goethe and the term ‘Weimar Classicism’ coined during this period are famous. His later works show influences from Kant. And who among us has not at least heard or read ‘Das Lied von der Glocke’ (The Song of the Bell) at school at some point, if not had to learn it by heart?
