Our history
Since 1999, The Coffee Store GmbH has been operating coffee bars and a web store, allowing our customers and guests to access the full expertise of our group of companies in coffee. Starting with green coffee, we offer our customers all possibilities to create individual coffee and espresso roasts and to enjoy coffees and espressos in a special atmosphere at our place or at home.
Our coffees are exclusively single estate coffees, which we obtain from direct trade from our five partner farms. We roast the highly aromatic coffees in small batches on drum roasters and our experienced baristi serve the coffees to our guests in our stores with great care. In this way, only the farmers and we are responsible for the taste of the coffee you enjoy every day in our stores or at home.
We also offer a wide range of seminars and workshops, from all areas and topics of coffee and its preparation. We are also available for individual events. Talk to us about it!
Our actions
Through direct trade, it is possible to have a precise influence on the processing of the coffee and thus the quality. The coffees are filled into special 30kg bags on the plantations and then arrive directly - without a stopover - to us in Mannheim. There we store about 200 different single estate coffees, which can be shipped from Mannheim at any time. Every detail of our coffees is known and traceable at any time. Due to the complete production and processing at our farmers on the plantations from cultivation to export-ready coffee and shipping directly to us - without further intermediate steps - the highest qualities can be ensured and the farmers work sustainably in real terms.
Our single estate coffee
Years of friendship with our farmers have given rise to the idea of single estate coffee: coffees harvested and processed separately by individual fields to preserve their unique and distinctive flavor profiles. As with wine, the terroir, with its microclimate, hydrology, insolation, soil characteristics, altitude, and the variety of coffee planted, plays a significant role in shaping the flavor of the coffee. In addition to these terroir factors, which can also be described as the "home" of the coffee, there are also the influences of harvesting and processing, the processing factors, which can be described as the "handwriting" of the farmer. This is how unique, one-of-a-kind single estate coffees are created - good for the taste, for nature, and for the farmers and their employees.
Our roasting
We roast the highly aromatic coffees in small batches on drum roasters and our experienced baristi serve the coffees to our guests in our stores with great care. Thus, only the farmers and we are responsible for the taste of the coffee you enjoy with us every day.
We believe that the taste of our coffees reflects this commitment to quality.
